FAQs for Event Coordinators

  1. What kind of catering services do you offer?

    We work with you to find the best service for your one-off or repeating events. While we cannot promise that all trucks are available for the following services, these are the types of services we provide:

    • Service Catering
      A food truck will bring food into your office or to your event and set everything up so they can serve your attendees.

    • Drop off Catering
      A food truck will drop off your food at a designated location provided by you, but they do not serve it.

    • Food Truck at Your Office
      A fod truck will physically park outside your office or in a designated spot provided by you. Your staff will then order right from the truck outside. This can vary in cost depending on who's paying for the meals and how many people you'll be serving.

      We only work with food trucks, so we can provide you multiple serving/catering options that other catering providers can't.

  3. Why should we use Food Truck Stars instead of contacting food trucks directly?

    Food Truck operators are busy people. Getting a hold of them -let alone scheduling and logistics- can be time consuming. We remove the hassle and make sure our vendors are actually reliable and experienced.

    We are a dedicated team with over 3 years of experience with food trucks. We will guide you and work with you through the process.

    You only pay for the cost of the food truck, so you don't need to worry about additional fees. We are on your side every step of the way.

  4. What is your cancellation policy?

    You may cancel your event for a full refund up to 1 week before the event. If you cancel within a week of the event but before 48 hours to the scheduled event, a 20% fee will be assessed. If you cancel within 48 hours of the event, a 40% fee will be assessed. This is used to help recoup some of the money the food trucks lose on preparation for your event.

  5. Do you have food truck menus we can see?

    We can provide you with menus once you specify the type of food you'd like at your event.

    We are currently working with food trucks to provide menus online that you can search and browse through.

  6. What is my cost? Is there a delivery charge?

    In most cases, you only pay for the food truck's service! No commission fees or delivery fees will be added to your cost. In some cases (because of travel distance), a food truck may charge an additional delivery fee.

  7. What's the typical cost per person?

    It depends on the type of food you want and differs from truck to truck. Typical price ranges are from $10-15. We can provide specifics once you submit a catering request.

  8. Can I have the actual food truck at my office?

    Yes absolutely, but there are some contingencies such as:

    • Do you have ample space for the food truck to park and serve people?

    • Is parking available on private property or public?

    • It costs extra to have the food truck present vs delivering food. Costs vary between trucks, so we can provide you with options.

  9. Do you offer discounts for reorders?

    Please contact one of our catering managers to see what discounts are available.

  10. What if someone has food and allergies?

    Let us know so we can communicate with the trucks and provide you with custom options.

  11. Can I request a truck that is not a Food Truck Stars member?

    Absolutely, that is our specialty service! If you want a specific truck, we will act on your behalf to communicate and get them as your catering vendor.

  12. When and how are payments for catering services made?

    We currently accept credit card payments only. All transactions can be handled by our catering managers. We take every step possible to make sure your information is safe and secure.

    A 30% deposit is required once your booking is confirmed (truck[s] are confirmed and signed-on for your event). Full payment is due no later than 5 days before your event.

    Special arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis.
